80 participants from Barh, Saksoharah, Hilsa and Biharsharif Parishes along with five priests and animators actively participated in the National Youth Day celebration held in the premises of Sacred Heart institution(BASE Society Chandithan, Biharsharif, on 9th December 2023.
At first all the youth were welcomed by the youth director of the diocese and then all the youth together with the animators and priests welcomed Most. Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, the archbishop of Patna archdiocese , the chief guest of the program by singing a colorful melodious welcome song and gave a Shawl and bouquet. Soon after this we began the youth day celebration with a holy Eucharist offered by Most Rev. Sebastian Kallupura followed by tea break. In his homily he spoke that unless the youth love and respect and give more importance to their parents they will not be able to come up and become a good person in the society, in the church and in their families.
After the tea break, there was an input session on the theme “Obey Your Parents”by Fr. Jeyakumar, the youth director of the Diocese. He mainly focused on the importance and purpose of obeying the parents. He also showed three short videos and through which he made all the youth gathered to know and realize the roles, sacrifices, sufferings, pains, challenges the parents face and experience in their daily lives in order to bring up their children to a greater position in the society. He too urged the youth to discuss on the videos and present their ideas and views based on the videos in different groups. The youth very well discussed came forward with many good views,ideas and suggestions on how and why we have to obey our parents and in every groups youth told that parents are our life and everything without them them we cant live and move forward in our lives.
The attractions of the celebration was the different competitions and cultural programs performed by youth from different parishes in the deanery. Indeed it was well organized and well prepared. At the end of the celebration, the youth coordinator of the deanery namely Fr. Joseph Unni appreciated all the parish priests, dean, director, the animators and sincerely thanked every one of them present there for the celebration for their commitment, support and selfless service to the youth and in a special way all the youth for their valuable presence, cooperation and active participation. The celebration came to an end with a benediction. Eventually all were severed a festival lunch and all the youth left the place very joyfully.
