The Youth Director of Patna conducted a training program for our parish youth at JyotiBhawan, Mokama from 10th February to 12th February 2023. There were 48 youth from Patna Archdiocese and 7 youth from Buxar diocese took part in it.
The program was commenced by Holy Eucharist followed by Ice-break where the youth were divided into six groups and introduced each other. Soon after the dinner, they gathered back in the hall and were given a brief introduction about the whole training program.
They began every new day with praising and thanking God for the life he has given to each one and for his protection. By this, they were told that they should never forget God at any time in their life and activities they do in their daily life and they should always feel that God is everything for them.To support this,there were many sessions taken by many resource persons on various relevant topics for the youth, namely the relevance of personal prayer, how where to practice the personal prayer, God our loving father, Salvation, Holiness, Repentance and the importance of the confession, and finally Inner healing etc., .
The main purpose of this training is to train and strengthen our Parish youth to grow and deepen their faith and to enable them to involve in all the spiritual activities and other programs of the Church.In fact, this program went on well and it was very useful for all our catholic youth and at the same time everyone took part in it very enthusiastically.
A training and an orientation program for all the YCS (Young Catholic Students) and LTS (Leadership Training Service) animators of the English and Hindi medium schools in Patna Archdiocese was organized by Fr. Jeyakumar, the youth director from 18th and 19thFebruary 2023 at Navjyoti Niketan, Patna. There were 27 animators from fifteen schools participated in it.
Most Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, the Archbishop of Patna inaugurated the program. And in his address, at first he appreciated all the animators of schools for voluntarily opting and making a lot of efforts and sacrificing their valuable time in serving, helping and moulding all our YSC and LTS students in our schools as an animators.
He also told them that the life of the young students whom they have in these movements in their schools are at their hands, therefore be their guide, friend and companion to train, lead and make them to become a vibrant leaders in the society. There were three resource persons namely Sir. Ajit, Sir. Sunil Kumar and Mam. Angela and they shared their knowledge and information and gave solid input through various topics, video clips, songs, activities and games to the animators how to be an effective animators in these movements and train the young youth in a better way.
Indeed it was a very active and useful program for all the animators. They all actively and happily participated in it.
Retreat for the Krusveer animators began on 17th March evening at 5pm at Jyoti Bhawan, Mokama. This was organized by the youth director of Patna. There were 15 participants from nine parishes took part in the retreat.
Fr. Irudayaraj and Fr. Sebastine. A were the preachers for the retreat. On 17th March evening Fr. Sebastine. A in his introductory talk, shared about the importance of a place of separation to the animators. They began the next day morning with a prayer of praise and worship led by Fr. Jeyakumar, the youth director. And soon after the praise and worship all the animators were asked the youth director to go around the open field and look at the nature, tree, birds and plants and meditate on them that how they are happy and praising God and happily providing so many good things for all the humans and creatures on the earth and supporting everyone to live a good and healthy life.
In these three days, Fr. Irudayaraj and Fr. Sebastine. A, guided the animators to come closer to God and experience his presence, his calling and gifts that He provides everyday through various ways and means on the following topics namely, Get equipped for your calling, A spiritual calling, How living in holiness will change their lives, We can experience God personally, Give our gifts to God and finally God is preparing for us more.
Finally it was concluded on 19th afternoon at 2pm. In fact, all the animators were led very closer to God and made them to experience God in their lives and in all the activities they do in their lives especially their special call to serve and work for the Krusveer children in their parishes and schools.
This program was held on 26th March evening at 6pm at Navjyoti Niketan, Patna. It was mainly for 10th and 12th boys who have completed their board exams. Thirty-one boys participated in this program. The Jeevan Pravsh program was commenced by Holy Eucharist offered by Fr. Augustine Kujur SJ Ranchi. Soon after the Mass, all the boys were gathered in the upper hall and introduced the program to them through an Ice-break game.Fr. Augustine Kujur SJ, Mr. Amrose from Ranchi were the main resource persons for the program. Together with the main resource persons,there were also other resource personsto support the boys namely Fr. Gyan Prakash Fr. Michael, Fr. Alex, Fr. Dharam Kishore, Fr. Andrews Thambi, Fr. Antony Prakash, Sr. Valeria Xalxo, and Fr. Jeeevan. Every new day was began with guided meditations.
Through these guided meditations they were led to go into one’s life and see how each one is living, acting, behaving, relating with each one they come in contact in their daily lives where ever they go and whatever they do. All these three days the boys were guided to go into one’s self and given many input sessions on various topics, videos, songs, life incidents, group activities to examine, interrogate and analyse and look at themselves where they are now, what they are now, how they are now and for why they are now and in which direction they are moving on.The boys were led to think deeply about one’s own life on different topics namely Self Discovery, Maturity, spirituality, Family, Relationship, Examination of Consciousness, Society, Social awareness, Sin and Reconciliation, Aim Discernment, Achieving their Goal, Community Life, call in the New Testament and Old Testament, Basic understanding of the Church, the importance of God and His Word, His Presence, the role of priests in the church and in the society, prayer and Community life and youngsters and moral life.
The main purpose of this program conducted for the boys is to realise the importance of their life, and help them to make a proper and right decision for their life and also help them to see the things, situations and events in a positive point of view and mainly encourage the boys to feel that their life is precious, given once by God, for a great purpose, so live a life joyfully and meaningfully for one, for the family and for others in the society, for a great cause wherever they are. Indeed all the boys enthusiastically participated in it and felt that it was very meaningful and useful program. It was concluded with a Mass by Most. Rev. Sebastian Kallupura, the archbishop of Patna and he also appreciated all the boys.
